Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Ne-Yo Have A Few Royal Wedding Gift Ideas

From 'guyliner' to American delicacies like Uncrustables, Kathy Griffin, Mike Posner and more tell us what they'd get Will and Kate.

What kind of wedding gift do you give the royal couple who has everything?

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is on Friday (April 29), so MTV News reached out to some of our favorite Hollywood celebrities — from Ke$ha to Adam Lambert. Fortunately, they had some solid ideas!

"I haven't met them, so it would be kind of awkward," the "Tik Tok" singer admitted to MTV News. "I might paint them something. Maybe I'll paint them a guitar."

Like Ke$ha, other celebs had suggestions that were from the heart, even if they weren't the most practical.

"I will go out on a limb and say these two individuals maybe haven't had Uncrustables before in their life. I would get them a strawberry Uncrustable," Mike Posner said about the pastry.

David Cook followed up on the all-American food idea. "I feel like they have everything except maybe they probably don't have an Applebee's gift card. I'll go [with an] Applebee's gift card," the "American Idol" alum said.

Other stars said they'd gift the British prince and soon-to-be-princess with an item they were personally best known for.

"I'd probably buy William some eyeliner," Lambert said. "He could do that, he could rock that look. I think."

Ne-Yo was more empathetic, saying he would give gifts that could help shield them from photographers and blend in with everyday people. "Three years' supply of sunglasses. Yeah, put them on. A bunch of baseball caps, throw those on, and try to move around like regular people," the singer said. "I can't imagine what it would be like having to live under that big of a magnifying glass your whole life ... and fake mustaches, that's what I'd give them."

Brooke Burke went the more traditional route, saying she would get Will and Kate a journal to record the big event. "I would ask them to really take the time to write down thoughts and phrases and wishes," Burke said. "And not really to lose sight of how they feel about each other now and to really hold on to that feeling."

Kathy Griffin had good intentions but the comedian couldn't resist a puke joke.

"If I had to get the royal couple a gift, I would get them the Royal Couple Vomit Bag, which someone sent me a photo of," Griffin told us. "So you can actually buy vomit bags with their image on it, and I think that that is an honor and I hope that they see it as such."

What would you give to William and Kate? Share your ideas in the comments section!

Lady Gaga, Bono, Usher To Headline Bill Clinton Foundation Fundraiser

October 15 show will be streamed live over the Internet.

Even a dozen years removed from the White House, former president Bill Clinton still has that same superstar-attracting aura. That might explain why such bright lights as Lady Gaga, Bono and The Edge of U2, and Usher have signed on to perform at an October 15 party for Clinton at the Hollywood Bowl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details on the final list of performers and presenters are still being worked on, but an impressive list of movie and TV personalities are expected to sign on for the event, which is being billed as a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Clinton's nonprofit William J. Clinton Foundation.

To date, the foundation has raised more than $10 billion for some of the ex-president's most cherished causes, including HIV/AIDS treatment, economic empowerment, food aid and global health initiatives. The show, which will also serve as a birthday party celebration for the former Democratic leader (who turned 65 on August 19), will be broadcast exclusively by Yahoo, which will stream "A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation" worldwide to a potential audience of millions.

Clinton continues to travel the world doing good works, though he turned his attention homeward over the weekend when he participated in the 10th anniversary ceremonies of the September 11 terror attacks. He announced on Sunday that he will team with Republican House Speaker John Boehner in a bipartisan effort to raise the final $10 million needed to complete the Fight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Justin Bieber's 'Santa Claus' Joins Classic Cartoon Clips

JB follows in the tradition of A-ha, Kanye West, Paula Abdul and others with animated videos.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber is not only going steampunk for a version of his "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" video; he's also getting animated.

In the new clip, Bieber hangs with Kris Claus and Topper the Penguin as they go around with various woodland creatures and have some fun holiday-themed shenanigans. But Bieber is hardly the first pop performer to go the cartoon route for a music video. In fact, he is the latest in a string of animated clips that date as far back as the Beatles and Pink Floyd. Let's take a look at some classic cartoon clips:

A-ha, "Take On Me"
The true gold standard of animated videos, this video, released back in 1985, snagged six VMAs and broke new ground in the medium. The video used a technique called rotoscoped animation, which allows visual effects to be animated over actual footage. It also seamed together an animated world and a real one, in which a man and woman from the two different worlds pursue one another romantically.

Michael Jackson, "Leave Me Alone"
Perhaps the most aggressive of the examples so far, the video, which dropped in 1989, has Jackson addressing the tabloid rumors of the day, as he rides along in an amusement-park setting. The idea of addressing rumors in videos was later adapted by everyone from Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna to No Doubt.

Paula Abdul, "Opposites Attract"
In 1989, Paula Abdul hooked up with MC Skat Kat for a video that was inspired by the classic Gene Kelly flick "Anchors Aweigh," in which he dances with Jerry Mouse. Animated by the Disney team, the video later won a Grammy for the "X Factor" mentor.

Britney Spears, "Break the Ice"
In 2008, Spears went anime in her clip from the Blackout album. The video's femme fatale is based on Brit's character in the "Toxic" video: a sexy, mysterious woman who lives fast and loose. It was Spears' idea to create an animated video.

Kanye West, "Heartless"
In 2008, a down-and-out animated Yeezy hooked up with Hype Williams. Much like A-ha's clip, it used rotoscoping, allowing West to be depressed in a whole new medium. It's the first time Williams created a cartoon clip.

As for Bieber's song, it's featured on his chart-topping holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, which features a number of guests, including Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, the Band Perry, Usher and Busta Rhymes. A version of the "Santa Claus" video will play before screenings of "Arthur Christmas: The Movie," which opens November 23.

Common Trades Hoops For Hip-Hop On 'When I Was 17'

'I couldn't play for a little while, so I started rapping more,' he recalls on the episode, airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT on MTV.
By Henna Kathiya

While most 17-year-olds were spending their free time playing video games and hanging out, Common was perfecting his skills. There's no doubt that this led to his successful hip-hop career.

The Grammy-winning artist revealed how he began rapping thanks to a sports-related injury on this week's episode of "When I Was 17," airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.

"When I was 17, I went to high school at [Chicago's] Luther South, and I did well in high school," the MC said on the episode, which also features T-Pain and "Twilight" star Alex Meraz. "I played basketball, but I got injured."

Common was hit in the eye during one of the games. Of course, that put him out of the game for a little bit, since it's kind of important to be able to see what's going on. So Common decided to use his time a little more productively than most other 17-year-olds.

"When I got injured, I couldn't play for a little while, so I started rapping more," he said. "I would be in gym class, and I would, like, get somebody to start beatboxing, and I'd just start freestyling."

Even at such a young age, Common's freestyling skills were unmatched. "He would be able to freestyle on any topic," his friend Marlon recalled. "We would change topics for him, and he would be able to talk about and rap about it. It was actually amazing."

He went by the moniker Rashid Cool at the time, and people knew he was a force to be reckoned with. "It was right around the time hip-hop was getting strong, so you get respect. A lot of people were like, 'Rashid Cool, you know he's good people,' " Common said.

"When I Was 17" — this week featuring T-Pain, Common and Alex Meraz — airs Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Justin Bieber Paternity Suit Dropped, Lawyer Confirms

But Mariah Yeater attorney Jeffrey Leving tells MTV News negotiations are still ongoing.
By Gil Kaufman

A lawyer for Mariah Yeater confirmed reports Wednesday (November 16) that the California woman had dropped her paternity suit against Justin Bieber.

After TMZ reported that Yeater had been dropped by the attorneys representing her and that they had withdrawn the claim last week, Chicago attorney Jeffrey Leving told MTV News that the suit is, technically, off but that negotiations are happening behind-the-scenes for a settlement.

"We are still pursuing a DNA test and ... if it's positive, our desire for child support is still active," said Leving, who confirmed that a motion to dismiss the paternity action was filed November 9 in San Diego. "We could refile the paternity case tomorrow if we wanted, but we are attempting to settle the case out of court."

Leving said his office is in negotiations with Bieber's attorney in the case, Los Angeles-based Howard Weitzman, to settle the matter. Weitzman could not be reached for comment at press time.

Can Justin Fight Back? See Bieber's Options

Leving said he was legally barred from commenting on his decision to withdraw the petition but described it as part of a strategy to negotiate a confidentiality agreement and child-support payments as part of an out-of-court settlement. He said his co-counsel in California had been in touch with Weitzman and that he has also brought on a detective to investigate what he claimed were death threats against Yeater.

Though he is now directing the case, Leving said he has been involved from the beginning but did not participate in the decision by Yeater's two former San Diego attorneys to file the paternity suit. He has also barred Yeater from doing any further media appearances or interviews. "She's a 20-year-old single mom with no money and no job trying to raise an infant, and she's being harassed and stalked," he said.

Last week, Bieber's camp confirmed that the 17-year-old singer would take a paternity test as soon as he returns from a European promotional jaunt in celebration of his just-released Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe.

Bieber's team vigorously denied the claim from the moment Yeater launched the paternity action earlier this month. Yeater claimed in a signed affidavit in the suit that she had unprotected sex with Bieber last October in a backstage area at one of the singer's concerts at Los Angeles' Staples Center and that her 4-month-old baby is his.

On Wednesday, Bieber's spokesperson once again maintained the pop star's innocence when asked to respond to reports that the suit had been dropped. "As we've said from the beginning, it's sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claim," Matthew Hiltzik said in a statement. "We'll continue to consider all of our options to protect Justin."

Asked to respond to suggestions that the withdrawal of the paternity suit appeared to weaken Yeater's claim, Leving said he felt just the opposite was true. "The case is stronger now because we can negotiate outside of court," he said. "I believe her. I believe she had sexual intercourse with him and I do believe he is the father of the child."

Because Leving is pursuing a nondisclosure agreement, he said, ideally, nobody will know the results of the DNA test either way. "If it's negative, we'll deal with it. If it's positive, we'll deal with it when that happens," he said. "But hopefully whether it's positive or negative, nobody will know."

Should Justin sue Mariah Yeater? Weigh in on Facebook!

Rihanna Set To Talk That Talk With Best Buy Partnership

Electronics retailer will give away singer's album free with purchase of mobile phone contract.

Partnerships in conjunction with album releases are nothing new, but Rihanna has found a way to make the business move all her own.

Best Buy has announced that on Monday, the same day that Rihanna drops her new album Talk That Talk, the retail chain will give away the album for free to anyone who buys and activates any contract mobile phone at a Best Buy or Best Buy Mobile location, as well as online.

"Rihanna is one of the biggest stars in music today and we expect this to be a big release," senior vice president and general manager for the home entertainment group at Best Buy, Chris Homeister, said in a statement about the partnership. "Leveraging our Best Buy Mobile business on this offer sets us apart from the competition and gives consumers a great reason to visit Best Buy for their music and smartphone needs."

The singer is currently riding high off the release of two singles in the lead-up to the release of TTT. She hit the top of the charts with "We Found Love" and just last week dropped the follow-up, "You Da One."

"This is one of those records, it becomes very addictive," she said of the track. "To me, it's very infectious: The more you listen to it, the more you want to listen to it. It had a reggae vibe, but it's a sweet little love letter. I love the record. It's kind of dirty, I love it." Talk That Talk features production credits from Bangladesh, Dr. Luke, Calvin Harris, Stargate and The-Dream. Her longtime pal and mentor Jay-Z also makes an appearance on the album's title track.

Lady Gaga And Laurieann Gibson Split: Experts React

'It's shocking and it's not,' one music writer tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

Lady Gaga
Photo: WireImage

After spending nearly her entire career working with Laurieann Gibson, Lady Gaga confirmed Monday (November 14) that she and her creative director had decided to part ways.

It was a move that may have been surprising to Gaga's Little Monsters, considering how closely the two have created some of the Mother Monster's most-memorable visuals, but did the split surprise music-industry observers?

"On the one hand, I get why [they split], because it seems like Laurieann's been doing a lot outside of the Gaga universe," Entertainment Weekly's Kyle Anderson told MTV News, referring to Gibson's starring roles on the BET dance-competition show "Born to Dance" and another dance reality series, E!'s "The Dance Scene." "On the other hand, it's a little bit strange, because Gaga's circle of people is so small, and all those people have been with her since pretty much the duration. She's really, really loyal, so it's a little bit strange to me, because I think she has this circle of people she trusts with her work."

Who should be Gaga's next choreographer? Let us know in the Newsroom!

As a key member of the Haus of Gaga, Gibson was never afraid to share her honest opinion about Gaga's work. Most notably, she spoke out publicly against Gaga's Jo Calderone performance at the VMAs, as well as her Nick Knight-directed "Born This Way" clip.

That unbridled honesty could be behind the Gaga/Gibson split, according to Us Weekly senior music editor Ian Drew.

"It's shocking and it's not," Drew told MTV News. "They were extremely close, and she let Laurieann have an unprecedented amount of control in her camp. Let's face it: Laurieann is very headstrong, never holds back what she thinks, and that tends to rub people the wrong way. I'm not totally surprised; it was only a matter of time.

"Look, I love Laurieann, and as a journalist, she's an interviewer's dream, because you'd catch her and she'd always just say what was going on," he added. "Laurieann would just say it. She would give you that perfect sound bite. She tended to be a little bit loose-lipped. But on the other hand, I can see why that maybe ruffled Gaga's feathers, because Gaga's all about the performance piece and not giving away too much. Laurieann really liked to take credit — not that that was bad, [and] maybe it was due, but maybe Gaga didn't want everyone knowing that. In the end, I do tend to think it was something to do with creative differences."

The big question is how the duo's severed partnership will impact Gaga's future endeavors. Will Little Monsters notice Gibson's absence?

"It always puts a really, really heavy focus on whatever the next project is," Anderson explained. "With stars like these, people become curious to know: 'Well how much do these individual cogs play into what we see in front of us?' These two have been together [for years], so we don't yet know what Gaga is like without her. So we don't know exactly what part of that personality plays into her projects."

Lady Gaga Cuts Ties With Laurieann Gibson

Gibson had been Gaga's creative director for several years.
By Gil Kaufman

After a long and fruitful creative partnership, Lady Gaga has broken ties with creative director Laurieann Gibson. MTV News confirmed the split on Monday (November 14), which came after reports that the two women had a serious falling out.

Gibson has been part of Gaga's inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "Love Game," "Paparazzi" and "Bad Romance."

The pair were closely associated throughout Gaga's rise to fame, with Gibson providing the choreography and artistic input on such landmark videos as "Telephone," "Alejandro" and "Born This Way." Gibson, who previously appeared on MTV's "Making the Band" with Diddy and the "Starmaker" reality show, has been stepping out on her own lately, including a starring role in the BET dance competition show "Born to Dance" and another dance reality series, E!'s "The Dance Scene."

Gibson co-directed Gaga's Judas" video and directed "Yoü and I, "but the women reportedly clashed on the set of the former, with Gibson expressing discomfort with the religious imagery in the clip. According to the Reporter, the tension was already showing during the filming of the "Judas" video, during which Gibson told the magazine, "At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, 'Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I'm not going there."

Think this is the right move for Gaga? Let us know on Facebook!

She was less adamant when talking to MTV News about the controversy, expressing pride in the final product. "I think the concept stuck with this one because, ultimately, there was a place where we wanted to leave the interpretation up to each individual and not take away [Gaga's] power as a performer, as a dancer, as a star," Gibson explained, alluding to the creative clashes the pair had about the "Born This Way" video. "And to leave the moments for you to interpret and be inspired by the fact that everyone has a Judas in their life and that there is a place of deliverance. For me, I interpret differently than her, and for someone else, they'll interpret it differently."

A spokesperson for Gaga confirmed the split for MTV News.

Gibson also spoke out after she and Gaga failed to see eye-to-eye on the concept for the "Edge of Glory" video. After reports that video vet Joseph Kahn would be directing, Gaga instead went for a simpler cityscape treatment that drew some fire from fans. "Listen u disrespectful f--k they had an issue on set I don't lie!!!!!" Gibson tweeted at the time. "Creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster's!!!"

The Reporter noted that relations between the two continued to fray this summer over disagreements about the "Yoü and I" video and Gaga seemed to confirm the end with a November 6 tweet in which she announced that Gibson's former #2, Richard Jackson, is her new choreographer.

Do Foo Fighters Know Robert Pattinson From Robert Plant?

During band's rehearsal break for Sunday's Movie Awards, we put Foos to the test.
By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Jim Cantiello

The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl
Photo: MTV News

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore and punk have long gone hand-in-hand with evil wizards, magic, vampires and werewolves. And with a collective sub-cultural pedigree that includes stints in the Germs, No Use for a Name, Sunny Day Real Estate, Scream and some band called Nirvana, you'd think the Foo Fighters — set to perform at Sunday's Movie Awards — would know their "Potter" from their Zeppelin. Certainly they can recognize a "wand" reference and pinpoint its origin?

Right? Before we put MTV News' magically crafted trivia to the band, it seemed safe to assume the Foos would accurately distinguish between the words of Harry Potter, a "Twilight" character and Led Zeppelin. But was their underground nerd cred blown to shreds? Read on — and click the video! — to see how the Foo Fighters fared when we caught up with them on the Universal Studios lot, shortly after they finished rehearsing their Movie Awards performance.

Our own Jim Cantiello played dungeon master as Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear were given a series of semi-famous lines and asked whether they originated with "Harry Potter," the "Twilight Saga" or the lyrics of hard-rock pioneers Led Zeppelin.

Here's a sampling of a few of those one-liners:

» "The elder wand, the most powerful wand ever made."

» "Why don't you let me be yours ever truly? Can I make your garden grow?"

» "You're lying, Dolores! You mustn't tell lies!"

Can you guess whether the lines above came from the "Potter" flicks, "Twilight" or Robert Plant?

Watch as the Foos try their best to do exactly that. Then tune in to the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday to catch the Foo Fighters rock the stage with their new single, "Walk."

Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards? Find out June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT that night for the "America's Best Dance Crew" finale and Movie Awards pre-show, loaded with live action from the red carpet, exclusive movie clips and a special edition of "After Hours."

Michael Jackson's fans are notorious for their rabid worship of the late pop star. But will they pony up big bucks to own the bed on which their icon died? We will find out on December 17, when Julien's Auctions Gallery will auction off the contents of the rented Holmby Hills, California, home that Jackson was renting at the time of his death.

Though the announcement of the sale does not mention Jackson by name, it lists a variety of fine art and furnishings from the residence, including a gilded Louis XV headboard (est. $3,000/$4,000) and a $30,000 watercolor painting by Maurice Utrillo. An Associated Press story revealed that the sale of contents of 100 North Carolwood Drive will comprise items left behind by Jackson.

The singer passed away in the home on June 25, 2009, and on Monday his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was found guilty of one felony count of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. Among the pieces of evidence brought up by prosecution witnesses attesting to Murray's medical incompetence was the fact that he gave Jackson CPR on a bed instead of a hard surface. The hundreds of items up for sale in the auction include the queen-size bed where Jackson slept.

In an ironic twist, just as Murray was getting news of the guilty verdict, reporters were being taken through the three-story home on a private tour in order to publicize the auction.

"We want to preserve the history of these items," said auctioneer Darren Julien of the contents, which include paintings and sculptures Jackson surrounded himself with in the rented home as he tuned up for his planned "This is It" comeback tour. The house, where Jackson lived with his three children from December 2008 until his death, is also separately up for sale.

One of the most-personal items on the block ($400) is a chalkboard that hung in the home's kitchen that features a note from the kids that reads, "I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it's for free." A mirror on an antique armoire in Jackson's private bedroom featured a message the star wrote to himself that read, "TRAIN, perfection, March April. FULL OUT May," a reference to the grueling rehearsal schedule the 50-year-old was keeping up as he prepared for the string of concerts that were to begin in London in July 2009.

Reporters also saw a "medication room," the bedroom shown in evidence photos at Murray's trial, where fans can pick up upholstered chairs smudged with Jackson's makeup. An attorney for Jackson matriarch Katherine Jackson said that the family is aware of the auction and has made certain that the event does not use Michael's name or likeness to help sell the items; Jackson's name is not mentioned in the promotional materials for the auction.

'Glee' Season Finale Exclusive: Listen To 'Yeah!' Here

An a cappella girl group covers Usher's hit for Nationals in next week's episode.

During this week's episode of "Glee", the gang from New Directions took a big risk when they decided they would compete in Nationals by singing their own original songs. Well, the stakes just got a little higher.

MTV News has an exclusive first listen to one of the rival groups who will go up against the McKinley High glee club in New York City during next Tuesday's (May 24) big season two finale. In the upcoming episode, an all-female a cappella group sings Usher's 2004 club and radio smash "Yeah!," which may have the Nationals judges saying just that.

Singers replace synthesizers for the four-note melody that repeats throughout the song, and lead vocalists RaVaughn Brown and Missi Hale match the high energy that Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris brought to the track.

Granted, a few things have been tweaked in the version for the tween-friendly show, including the length (the original is over four minutes long, while the "Glee" version comes in at three and a half minutes) and the tune's instructions to "Take that and rewind it back ... got the rhythm make ya booty go."

Also, instead of Ludacris' verse, "We want a lady in the street/ And a freak in the bed," one girl sings, "You know you want a kiss on the lips, old red." The line, "Ludacris fill cups like double D's" has also been cut from the song.

But, it's not all PG. At one point in the girls' rendition of the track, they page homage to Lil Jon's crunk hit "Get Low," singing, "From the windows to the walls" and even Mystikal's booty-happy single "Shake Ya Ass," when they urge, "Show me whatcha' workin' with."

At the 2005 Grammy Awards, the power trio of Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris won the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Yeah!" But, will the song bring the same sort of fortune to this girl group at Nationals? Or will the glory all belong to New Directions this time? Gleeks will still have to wait a few more days to find out.

The "Glee" season finale airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Fox, while "Glee": The Music, Volume 6, including the three new original songs "Light Up the World," "Pretending" and "As Long as You're There," will be available on Monday.

What do you think of this a cappella group's version of "Yeah!"? Let us know in the comments section below!

Justin Bieber Auctioning Off His Snake For Charity

Fans can bid on Johnson now, with all proceeds going to Pencils of Promise.

Justin Bieber is auctioning off Johnson, the baby boa constrictor he brought to the 2011 Video Music Awards, with all proceeds going to Pencils of Promise, one of the organizations he's sponsoring through his Believe charity drive.

That means one lucky fan has the chance to win a decidedly unique bit of Bieber memorabilia.

Bidding is now under way over on the Charity Buzz website (Johnson is currently going for $175, FYI) and closes November 29. Of course, only serious bidders need apply, because if you end up winning the auction, you'll be on the hook for the long haul, as a disclaimer on the site cautions:

"Keeping a pet snake is a long-term responsibility. Before making any decision about keeping one, please ensure you have the money, space, knowledge, time, resources and enthusiasm required to properly care for the species you intend to keep, for the duration of its life."

Enthusiasm is key, since boa constrictors can live 20 years or more in captivity, and, as Charity Buzz states, "the welfare of this snake is the sole responsibility of the adopter ... the adopter agrees to give the snake good care, which includes quality premium food, fresh water, sanitation and grooming, clean and secure indoor housing, clean and secure outdoor housing and overall safety." The winning bidder must also guarantee Johnson's veterinary care will be provided for.

Bieber announced the launch of his Believe charity drive earlier this month, with the release of his Under the Mistletoe. He's donating a portion of the sales from the holiday disc — which just debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart — to charity and is encouraging fans to match his donations to seven specific organizations: the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pencils of Promise, Musicians on Call, Project Medishare for Haiti, City of Hope, the Boys & Girls Club of America and the Grammy Foundation.

Will you bid on Justin's snake? Let us know in the comments!

'Immortals': The Reviews Are In!

While many critics marvel at the visual spectacle of the Greek flick, others decry Tarsem Singh's 'style-over-substance exercise.'
By Kevin P. Sullivan

If recent Greek movie history has taught us anything, it's that the men of myths and legends had some killer ab routines. "Immortals" continues the tradition started by "300," but will the new film find the same magic that made the Gerard Butler flick such a huge success?

Critics see the similarities, namely in the brains (or lack thereof) department. While it may not be the smartest picture on the block, most seem to agree "Immortals" is actually quite beautiful. Here's a rundown on what the critics have to say about the movie, which hit theaters on Friday (November 11).

The Story
"Alas, the movie makes next to no sense. It involves, in a very broad sense, the attempt by King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) to conquer Greece, and the battle to stop him led by a plucky peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill). ... But a lot of the time I had no idea what was going on. Characters would turn up for the first time, seem terrifically important, and disappear. If at many moments I had stopped the film and asked anybody around me, 'Who is that, and what are they doing and why?' I think they'd have been stuck for an answer." — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Henry Cavill
"Henry Cavill, cast as Superman in Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel,' next year, plays Theseus, a peasant who leads a rebellion against the wicked King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke, the highlight of the film). Muscular, oily and full of resentment, Cavill makes a fine perturbed peasant, though he's got a tough bill sharing the most scenes with Rourke." — Scott Bowles, USA Today

The Direction
"Tarsem Singh's first two films, 'The Cell' and 'The Fall,' were shallow but exquisite displays designed almost entirely to show off his extraordinary artistry. With 'Immortals,' Singh finally acknowledges that he's making movies, rather than just beautiful moving pictures. In his ostentatiously unconventional take on ancient Greek history, he gives us fully fleshed characters and a compelling (enough) plot, plus all the action an epic requires. And, true to form, it's also the most gorgeous film of the year." — Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News

The Costumes
"The most eye-catching creative contribution consists of Eiko Ishioka's sometimes striking costume designs, which not only functionally differentiate the assorted factions but often pop the eyes even against the colorful backgrounds." — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter

The Final Word
"Absent a compelling narrative, the spectacle alone may be enough to survive opening weekend, only to see returns for this style-over-substance exercise wither over the following weeks. — Peter Debruge, Variety

Stranger Danger

My sister recently had a talk with my four-year-old nephew Jack about strangers. Here's how it went:

SISTER: Now, Jack, if a stranger says, "Come here, I want to show you something," what do you do?

JACK: I turn around and run!

SISTER: If a stranger says, "Come here, I want to give you some candy," what do you do?

JACK: I turn around and run!

SISTER: If a stranger says, "Come here, I want to show you my puppy," what do you do?

JACK: Oh, I love puppies...

SPEAK ON IT: Rocawear Has No Plans To Share OCCUPY ALL STREETS Profits With Protesters

Jay-Z and Rocawear are launching an Occupy Wall Street T-shirt line today....but don't plan to donate any profits to the movement's originators. And some people are pissy.  Does that make Jay-Z a part of the problem or just a "smart" business man. Plus, go inside marketing guru to the A-Listers Steve Stoute's life and his TANNING effect.

Speak on it inside.....

If you want to latch on to a cause that is both fashionable and politically correct (to most), Rocawear has the answer.

The clothing label is launching a line of Occupy Wall Street t-shirts today that will "support" the movement in principle....but not financially.  The shirts spin the phrase "Occupy Wall Street"  making it read "Occupy All Streets."   Rocawear says it's to expand the notion of rectifying wrongs in all places...not just Wall Street.

A Rocawear spokeswoman said in a statement to Gawker,

The 'Occupy All Streets' T shirt was created in support of the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. 'Occupy All Streets' is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement.

You decide.....is Jay-Z a part of the exact problem all the Occupy Wall Streeters are protesting (e.g. the 1 percenters taking things from people, making money from it, and not sharing the profits properly)? Or is this just a good business move and capitalizing on a "moment" while you can?

SPEAK ON IT.......

BONUS:

Speaking of hip hop & social politics...watch this "Nightline" piece on Steve Stoute and his book The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy.  It goes inside the life of the business guru--from glitzy A-List parties to serious mainstream business deals he's cut for pretty much ALL your favorite artists--furthering their international brands even more.

Usher Gets 'Emotional' On David Guetta's 'Without You'

DJ/producer calls their collabo the 'biggest record' on his just-released Nothing but the Beat.
By Akshay Bhansali

David Guetta recently told MTV News that the Usher collabo "Without You" is the "biggest record" on his just-released Nothing but the Beat.

It's a rather bold statement, considering his latest album also features Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, will.i.am, Akon, Timbaland, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Hudson, just to name a few. But Guetta has a soft spot for the cinematic team-up with Ush, which he says is equal parts sentimental and hands-in-the-air euphoric.

"It's just totally emotional," Guetta said. "Some of the record is a proper ballad, and then it goes to that crazy dance beat. It's perfect for him, because he's famous for his ballads. And he's also now famous for those big club records that he comes with. He's an amazing dancer, so I felt like he was the artist that I needed."

Usher and Guetta first previewed the song in Ibiza, Spain, earlier this summer, with the crowd demanding an encore performance of the sure-to-be-hit song.

"It was amazing," Guetta gushed. "We were not supposed to do this. I always do these kinds of stupid things, playing records when I'm not supposed to play them. And Usher was so excited for this time to be in Ibiza performing in front of those people. He called me onstage and said, 'Come on. Let's do it.' So we did it, and, yeah, they loved it. We had to do it again! They asked for one more."

For some, the combination of Usher and Guetta might seem out of left field. While the DJ/producer works with a variety of artists, he has a pretty tight-knit musical family — but it may come as a surprise that Guetta has known Usher the longest.

"I actually speak very often about how thankful I am to will.i.am because he called me to produce 'I Gotta Feeling'; Akon, when we started to work together, because I wasn't famous in America; Kelly Rowland and all those guys that came to me when I was not known yet," Guetta said. "But I have to say that the very first time when someone big from America asked me if I want to work with him, it was Usher. Like, a really long time ago, but we never had the time to do it. So I was so happy to be finally in the studio with him, because he spotted me when I was really not famous yet."

Usher and Guetta already shot the video for "Without You" in Ibiza. The song will follow up Guetta's current single, "Little Bad Girl," which features Ludacris and Taio Cruz.
